My favorite trail is the one I haven’t yet seen
Classic singletrack loop with these two funsters
Working the loam mine
Sold a bike, two kidneys, and a liver
This place feels mystical and not just because it’s so doggone hard to get to

In the early part of the 20th century this area was a popular destination. It’s no less beautiful today but over time it’s been mostly forgotten and the trails have just about disappeared. The connection I feel with the past when I’m out discovering and restoring abandoned trails is profound and I like to imagine the ghosts are smiling.
When Odin schedules a meeting, you go
Proof that I’m annoying

For my birthday ride this year I’m gonna race against the Cat A cyclocross geeks on this old as GT. I have no idea what I’m doing but I can pedal hard and build a sick bike out of shit lying around the shop. Mods on this one include magic gear (42-17) singlespeed conversion, ghetto tubeless running 37c WTB Riddlers, V-brake out back with a Problem Solvers Travel Agent, Tressostar tape to hold the full-length housing in place and provide a grip for off-bike antics. I’m sure I’ll get my “ass handed to me” as Vern would say but my kids will be there to heckle and spray water.
